About the Entry

The Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA) supports the Catholic health ministry’s commitment to improve the health status of communities and create quality and compassionate health care that works for everyone. The Catholic health ministry is the nation's largest group of not-for-profit health systems and facilities that, along with their sponsoring organizations, employ more than 750,000 women and men who deliver services combining advanced technology with the Catholic caring tradition. CHA needed to redesign its current website to showcase its broad scope of efforts for other healthcare organizations and patients through education, outreach and administrative support. The organization also wanted to be a vital source information for Catholic health care, accessible from all devices. To better reach and serve their mobile audience, Matrix Group designed a responsive website for CHA. As many health care professionals are on the go and require information about Catholic health care while in the field, the design of the mobile component of the redesign was of the utmost importance to the organization. The mobile site offers users easy access to a breadth and depth of information through a sleek pop-out navigation feature. This long vertical navigation, accessible through scrolling, allows the user to navigate to just about any page on the site right from the home page. Also keeping CHA’s events in mind as a key member benefit, the new mobile site was designed so that attendees could easily access event information, session information, and event updates. The entire website was implemented in the Sitefinity content management system, with CSS used to implement the rich, clean mobile experience. Since the site’s launch in May of 2013, the mobile site traffic has increased almost 3%, and is only expected to grow.
