Our aims and audience:
Our aims with this project were three-fold: to service the needs of our audience of IT and business professionals, to provide new sponsorship opportunities for our clients, and to raise the profile of the IDG Connect brand in the wider market place.
Our audience of IT and business decision makers tend to be early adopters of new technology: a recent survey results showed that 65% already own a tablet device. It was becoming increasingly obvious by Spring last year that we needed to move into the mobile (tablet) space in order to service our audience’s ever changing needs.
Success of the app:
The app has achieved over 20,000 white paper downloads since it launched. It has also generated 1,000 Oracle downloads (over a five month period).
This has proved very popular with our readers. Over the seven months since it went live it has had steady stream of downloads from the app store, a 70% visitor return rate and user feedback is extremely positive. This shows that 91% find it easy to use, 61% find it useful and 65% say there is nothing they would change.
