The Last.fm Festivals app, created by the international music discovery service Last.fm, is targeted towards music lovers worldwide, especially those who go to festivals during the highly trafficked summer music season. The free app is for the on-the-go festival attendee and helps them find out which of more than 4500 upcoming festivals are most compatible with their unique music taste in any city, country or even continent in the world. The application is available on iPhone, iPod and Android devices. Registered Last.fm users can track their listening history and preferences through "scrobbling" technology, and the more a user scrobbles, the more tailored the festival recommendations and band lineups will be. Using personalized data this way, the Last.fm Festivals app helps users to find festivals, create a schedule of suggested artists to see, view personalized compatibility scores for each festival, and more. In addition, music fans across the globe are able to sort and view festivals in a number of ways including location, date, genre or festival name. Social media functionality has also been built into the app, allowing users to see which concerts their friends are attending and share events with them using Facebook and Twitter. Last.fm is known for helping users discover new music, and the Last.fm Festivals App is a further extension of the site's festival recommendation guide (http://www.last.fm/festivals/).
