About the Entry

Our website provides an exhaustive, user-friendly list of services & programs for the state’s vulnerable populations and their providers. As Maryland’s primary social services provider, we directly serve over one million people annually. The design & functionality of the bootstrap based mobile first responsive website was constructed to welcome participants with the experience of immediate, easy, and visually soothing engagement that bucks the trends of typically cold bureaucratic platforms. We have 47% of people accessing our website on mobile devices, which has increased by 180% during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our new COVID-19 webpage has swiftly positioned itself ahead of the digital curve among social services agencies nationally, the comprehensive COVID-19 webpage was redesigned to further facilitate an easy-to-navigate, customer-friendly experience, with the latest information and resources.
Through the use of dynamic visual aids and features like the touch base slide out menu, our website takes advantage of the latest web design trends. The robustness and reliability of our website means customers can access our website even under unexpected circumstances via various platforms. The site uses forms which helps customers send us their requests to be addressed by the appropriate staff. The aesthetic care embodied on the website reflects the care our customers receive by our agency. Each facet of the website represents an implicit pact of reliability between DHS and the customer, in advance of the customer engaging us on the phone or face-to-face. The look and feel of the website make it approachable. The website is made using cutting edge technologies that give customers a friendly and professional experience.
