About the Entry

Consumers are expecting a consistent and optimized Web experience on their mobile device. As mobile adoption continues its dramatic increase and as consumer shopping behaviors shift away from desktop platforms to mobile devices, the establishment of Schlage’s mobile presence was a critical business objective in 2011.
Implementation of a strategic mobile Web experience will empower Schlage’s customers to research products in an industry leading interface designed to increase purchase intent and support the selection process.
Schlage wanted to create a mobile experience that would attract new customers and assist them with their in-aisle consideration process, introduce them to the Schlage family of products, and engage them with the Schlage brand. The goals were to:
• Attract new consumers
• Differentiate Schlage vis-à-vis competition
• Increase brand preference for Schlage in the door hardware and security category
• Solidify Schlage’s leadership status as a forward-looking brand

To meet these goals, White Horse built a mobile experience to accomplish the following:
• Increase awareness of Schlage among consumers looking for door hardware
• Facilitate exploration of the breadth of Schalge’s product offerings in a mobile context
• Expose potential customers to attractive features of the purchase and product-comparison experience on Schlage’s full website, such as style selection
• Create confidence customers can use Schlage’s website tools to make the best product choices
• Expose potential customers to product features that showcase and most differentiate Schlage’s product lines as a whole
• Help customers feel confident they can easily install their new hardware
