Context is everything to a mobile user and when analytics proved nearly 10% of the Goodyear site’s users were accessing it via a mobile device, we wanted to make sure to serve up the right experience to them at the right time. With design from MICROS-Retail's design team, Fry (www.fry.com), we designed a mobile experience in which people can find a store using mobile location services, browse and select tires, and book an appointment. The mobile site is also cost-effective—the same site administration tools, product data, etc. feed the mobile site and the desktop site. They are essentially the same site utilizing templates optimized for each channel, but providing an overall consistent experience to customers across channels.
