About the Entry

Last August, we released the first version of the Downtown NYC iPhone app. Since then, we made updates to the app and added new functionality. The result? Version 2 is available in the App Store now. Staying true to our original goals of keeping the app easy-to-use with a clean interface, we made improvements to the Where To Go section, and added favoriting and search functionality. Now you’ll also receive In App Alerts that show you vital information about Lower Manhattan when pushed by the Downtown Alliance staff. The app also features a new Special Events section, a category used during special times of the year, allowing you to see everything there is to do. The app is fully integrated with Google map, Twitter and Facebook. You can even add events straight from the app to your iCal calendar. The Downtown Alliance staff has control of the app, adding categories and events through the same interface they use to manage the website content. I-SITE works with the Downtown Alliance on managing the website day-to-day and adding new features to the website monthly.
