About the Entry

Lifebroker is a leading specialist online broker of life insurance, helping Australians to find the best coverage from the top providers. We have been Lifebroker's digital partner for many years, delivering several website iterations as the business has grown and evolved. The 2016 redesign was about refreshing the brand, improving usability and optimising for conversions across all platforms. Previously, there were separate mobile and desktop websites, and the updated version took a mobile-first approach. We worked with Lifebroker to break down their audience, determining a range of user journeys. Different user paths were developed and woven through the website including allowing users to choose between a ‘quick quote’ or a more in depth review of insurance options — depending on their preference. The use of playful illustrations and friendly tone of voice soften what is a serious product offering, and make Lifebroker more approachable. To ensure the website was mobile friendly, significant optimisation was done by the front end development team, including loading all images from a CDN and using SVG wherever possible, optimising page load using Google PageSpeed tools, extensive caching, appropriate tap sizes for mobile and large, legible font sizes. The resulting website was a beautiful, mobile responsive website that serves as a powerful lead generation tool for Lifebroker.
